Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician
Dr Lerios qualified from the medical school of Athens University in 1976. Following that he pursued his postgraduate specialist training in Gastroenterology in big teaching hospitals in Athens, South Africa and the UK. He has gained huge experience in the management of general medical and gastroenterological conditions as well as the treatment of rare gastroenterological emergencies.
Following his return to Cyprus, he was appointed consultant of gastroenterology in Nicosia General Hospital where he worked for many years and was the recipient of the most complicated cases in gastroenterology of Cyprus. Dr Lerios has substantial research and teaching experience and has attended various courses in the UK during his time as the gastroenterology consultant in Cyprus where he learned the latest endoscopy techniques.
Through the years, Dr Lerios has developed advanced procedural skills having performed thousands of upper and lower GI endoscopies (gastroscopies and colonoscopies), endoscopic polypectomies, banding ligations/endoscopic glue injections for gastro-oesophageal varices, hundreds of endoscopic haemostases of bleeding peptic ulcers, Oesophageal dilation, and ERCP (both diagnostic and therapeutic).
Dr Lerios is a member of the Cyprus Medical Association and the Cyprus and European Societies of Gastroenterology.
